Have you ever wanted to build a robot- or learn wilderness survival- or have lessons on woodcarving? All these activities, plus many more, were offered for a week to scouts recently attending Boy Scout Camp Tahuaya near Lake Belton, TX. Fifteen boys and three adults from Blanco’s Boy Scout Troop 497, sponsored by the Blanco United Methodist Church, attended the fun-filled, busy week. During their time at camp the boys met scouts from other troops, camped in tents, worked on merit badges and participated in activities which encouraged their growth in leadership skills. It was difficult for the scouts to choose which classes to take since such a large variety was offered. Some of the class choices at Camp Tahuaya were swimming, kayaking, photography, rifle shooting, computers, pioneering, graphic arts, digital technology, geology, shotgun shooting and climbing. If you enjoy the out-of-doors, good fellowship and the opportunity to learn new skills while having fun, then contact 918-804-4840 for information concerning Troop 497’s summer schedule of events.
