The Panther Junior Varsity Baseball team is off to a quick start this season with a record of 10 and 1, while sitting 2 and 0 in district play. This past weekend, the Panthers hosted their annual JV tournament and came out in 1st place. Before starting tournament play on Saturday, the Panthers played Wimberley in a pick-up game and came away with an exciting come from behind win claiming a 6 to 5 victory scoring 4 runs in their last at bat. Afterwards, the Panthers fell to Harper 7 to 6 before defeating Johnson City 8 to 2. With a three way tie between Blanco, JC and Harper, the Panthers would come out on top by winning the tie breaker for fewest runs allowed in the tournament. Those players making the all-tournament team for Blanco were Luis Elizondo, Kailen Webster, Cross Caldwell and Chase Horton. Tournament MVP honors went to Garrett Seales.
The Panthers will travel to Lago Vista this Thursday to take on the Vikings in a game that will determine who remains in first place as the first round of district play comes to an end.
