Blanco Performing Arts attendees were treated to a riveting performance by the Texas Guitar Quartet on Saturday, March 22.
The Quartet began with selections from Suite Espanola, Op. 47, a light, springing piece, to set the mood for the night. They then played pieces from Mozart and Beethoven, expertly arranged for guitar by members of the quartet.
After intermission, the audience heard Tracks, from Sinfonia by Peter Lieuwen, a piece commissioned and dedicated to Issac Bustos of the quartet. The finale was an original piece by member Joseph Williams II, titled Red. This emotionally charged piece was well received by the audience, who gave a standing ovation.
The next concert for Blanco Performing Arts is set for June 1 at 3:00 pm and will feature Violinist and Blanco native, Julia Pautz, with Pianist Maimy Fong.
