Dear Editor,

I like the new Lifestyle page and want to thank you for including recipes from our community cookbook, “Blanco State Park: A Taste of History and Tradition.” Sharon Romero, Jo Nell Haas and I had SO MUCH FUN putting the cookbook together to benefit Blanco State Park. I’d like to let everyone know that we still have a few left and they are going, going, almost gone! The cookbooks are available at Blanco State Park headquarters and Brieger Pottery. The Friends of Blanco State Park will also have them on the square at Wild Woman Weekend on April 5th, and at Lavender Festival June 13th – 15th. Thank you to all our friends and neighbors who contributed recipes and support, and everyone who has purchased one for their home or as gifts. In addition to the wonderful recipes and personal stories from the wildly talented cooks in our community, the history of the park from 1933 to present is also featured in the cookbook. Proceeds directly benefit Blanco State Park and are earmarked for new landscaping and seating near the park pavilion in honor of Bud Murrah.

With Gratitude,

Jennifer Oines
