From Brian Hecimovich

The Blanco Panther High School Band competed at the UIL Region 12 Concert and Sight-Reading Competition. The Band is given a score of Divisions 1 through 5. 1 is considered Superior, 2 - good, 3 - Average, 4 - Needs Improvement, and 5 is Poor. The bands compete at 2 separate competitions: A concert competition where there are 3 prepared musical selections selected from a UIL-approved list and a competition in Sight-Reading where the band plays a piece of music they have never seen before with no practice (the director is given 7 minutes to go over the piece but the students may not practice). The bands are given one shot to perform the unknown piece.

The Blanco Panther High School received Division 1s from all judges in both Concert and High School!

Judges were very impressed with the band! Congratulations to these fine students!
