The Blanco FFA and Jr. FFA competed at the East Central Livestock Judging Contest this past Saturday.
Blanco’s Jr. team consisting of Jon Campbell, Molly Edmondson, Jacob Fuller, Kelton Marek, Kolby Marek, Brock Nichols, Gage Nichols, Cooper Riley, Jacob Robinson, Garrett Seales, Brenna Wallace and Noah Wheeler, placed 1st overall in addition to winning top honors in beef, goats, pork, sheep and questions. Individually, Molly Edmondson tied for 5th overall, followed by Jacob Fuller 13th, Noah Wheeler 15th and Garrett Seales 20th. Finishing in the top 30 overall were Jacob Robinson and Kelton Marek.
In beef, Garrett Seales placed 3rd while Molly Edmondson and Kelton Marek tied for 8th. Others ranking in the top 20 in beef were Gage Nichols, Brenna Wallace, Jacob Fuller and Jacob Robinson. Final goat rankings would have Edmondson and Wheeler tying for 3rd and Seales placing 9th. Jacob Fuller would tie for 1st in both pork and sheep, while Brenna Wallace would tie for 5th in pork. Also placing in the top 20 in sheep were Robinson, Wheeler and Edmondson.
Finally, in total questions, Fuller and Edmondson would tie for 6th with Cooper Riley tying for 9th and Robinson making the top 20. Overall, there were 15 teams from across the state and 88 individuals competing in the junior division.
In the senior division, Blanco would rank 7th out of 34 teams while placing 1st in sheep and tying for 7th in total questions. Individually, Ryan Edwards would tie for 11th overall and 5th in sheep while Logan Dodd would tie for 10th in pork. Other Blanco FFA members competing in the senior division included Ryan Bible, Kari Graham, Dalton Savanich and Payton Savarino.
