Wild Woman Weekend is back for a second year on April 4th and 5th 2014. Women in Blanco have designed this fundraising extravaganza just for women and to benefit four area organizations.

Gem of the Hills Senior Community Center provides community-wide health, fitness, and social activities with a special emphasis on area seniors.

Friends of Blanco State Park helps to maintain our local park and underwrite activities for children and the community that encourage conservation and enjoyment of our great outdoors.

Blanco Library, Inc. supports our local library, serving patrons throughout the area with traditional library services, computer access, as well as children’s art and reading programs.

The Old Blanco County Courthouse Preservation Society maintains our wonderful old courthouse as the center of our community and a model for historic preservation.

As a small community we have joined forces to raise the money we need to keep operating these service organizations.

Colorist theory workshop for quilters, painters, or interior design, kayaking clinic, guided nature walks, wine tasting, live music, hidden hill country tour, glass fusing lessons, farm to market luncheon, and mother nature’s superstore are some of the new events this year. Many of the activities from last year will be repeated such as the 5k and 10k run, casino night, “chick” market, author luncheon, fly-fishing, and the “chick flick” movie on the lawn of the courthouse.

There is something for every woman regardless of interests or age, so women don’t miss this opportunity to “party with a purpose” for Blanco.
