At their monthly meeting in December, P&Z decided to hold an open meeting to give the citizens of Blanco the opportunity to voice their opinions on topics dealing with future city growth, zoning and ordinances. The City of Blanco recently annexed property adjacent to the city limits and also purchased over 100 acres east of the sewage treatment plant, thus enlarging the size of our community. At the present time official maps with the new boundaries are not available but P&Z hopes that they will have a rough drawing of the new boundaries by the February 3rd meeting. Are you curious as to what the new city looks like? Do you have questions about how the land can be used? Do you have ideas that need to be shared with your P&Z Commissioners? Your chance to be better informed and express you opinions is at P&Z meetings. The next meeting is Feb. 3 at 6:30 pm at the Byars Building. Please come to give P&Z your input.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is also looking for volunteers to serve on the Commission. This is your opportunity to have monthly input and participate in the growth of our small town.
Again, Blanco’s Planning and Zoning Commission invites the citizens of Blanco and its extraterritorial jurisdiction (1/2 mile outside the city limits) to a public hearing on Monday Feb. 3 at 6:30 pm in the Byars Building, 308 Pecan St. Please join us.
