The Highland Lakes Master Gardener Association is accepting applications for its 2014 class. The deadline is Tuesday, January 21, 2014 and the class will begin on Tuesday, February 18. This 12-week certification program provides a comprehensive background in horticultural principles and practices with an emphasis on conservation and sustainability. Equally important to Master Gardeners, however is service to the community. Class members must be committed to attend ALL classes to finish this 40-hour course sponsored by the Texas A&M AgriLIFE Extension Service, volunteer in the community for 50 hours and complete 10 hours of advanced training.
The cost is $175 which includes resource materials, a t-shirt, and a background check. See the HLMGA website for more information and to download the application and background check: www.burnetcountyhighlandlakesmastergardener.org. Contact Becky Rodriguez at 830-385-2791 or becky@southwestlearning.com with questions. The course is held once a year so get your application in early!
