Brenda Joyce (Yecker) Lieck was born on August 24, 1947 to Wilburn James Yecker and Marjorie Irene (Miller) Yecker in San Antonio, TX. Her school days were spent in the San Antonio ISD and graduated May 27th, 1964 from Edison High School. Brenda was baptized in the Baptist Church but was confirmed March 26, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes where her relationship with Roy began. She joined the ladies softball team and Roy was the coach. They had their first date on June 21,1961 and saw a movie at the Bandera Road Drive-In Theater. Neither one could ever recall the movie playing but could remember Brenda saying I am going to marry you. Roy and Brenda were married at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes on March 6, 1964. Their marriage produced three children; Allen Wade, Wayne Douglas, and Rhonda Denise. Brenda had a long and varied career working for numerous companies-hotel receptionist - secretary for several, collection manager,directory assistance operator and finally ending her career with HEB where she held several positions until an injury forced her to retire in 2001. She enjoyed traveling with her family to various places. One of her favorites being Grand Teton National Park visiting it four times. Roy and Brenda's last two trips by themselves were to Niagara Falls State Park and Arches National Park. Roy and Brenda were planning an Alaska Cruise in 2014 to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. She is survived by husband Roy Lieck, son Allen and wife Penny, their children Brian and Steven, son Wayne, his children Tyler and Cassidy, daughter Rhonda Hull and husband John, their children Kaleigh Moreland and Ashleigh and Robert.
Memorial services were held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 703 Main St, Blanco, TX 78606.
