Troop 497 is comprised of Scouts ages 11 to 16. The Scouts in our Troop attend Middle School and High School in Blanco, Wimberley and Canyon Lake. Troop 497 is a very active Troop and has campouts and activities regularly. The next campout will be for 5 nights at Winter Camp, during Christmas break, where the Scouts will work on different Merit Badges and possibly get their Polar Bear Patch for camping out in weather below 32 degrees. Some of the Merit Barges that will be worked on and earned are: Rifle Shooting, Archery, Emergency Preparedness, Communications, Climbing and several others.
