The Panther Varsity Basketball Team tallied two more wins over the past week defeating Our Lady of the Hills of Kerrville on Tuesday, November 26 and downing the Austin Royals, on Monday, December 2.
The Panthers outscored Kerrville OLH 75-35 with Carlin Green sinking 20 points to lead Blanco. Brett Champion made 11 points, while David Ramirez added 8. Jacob McCaslin scored 7 with Josh McCaslin making 6 points. Ty Royce, Alfred Amezquita, and Dylan Tesch each scored 4 points. Tyler Schlinke and Diego Alegria each added 3. Ross Edwards and James Rodriguez scored 2 each with John Cross Caldwell sinking a free throw for 1 point.
The Panthers ran past the Austin Royals 70-47 with Green again pacing the Panthers scoring 28 points on 11 of 18 shooting from the field. Green also led the team with 12 rebounds. Ramirez scored 9 with Amezquita making 7 points. Ramirez led the team with 3 steals and 3 deflections. Trent Dechert and Josh McCaslin each sank 6 points. Schlinke, Royce, and Champion each scored 4, with Jacob McCaslin adding 2. Champion also led the team with 5 assists.
The Junior Varsity suffered their first loss of the season to the Royals, 27-53. Caldwell lead the JV scoring 7 points. Alegria and Hugo Rodriguez each scored 4. Garrett Seales made 3 points. Tesch, James Rodriguez, Noah Wheeler, and Dawson Albin sank 2 points each. Jonathan Campbell added 1 point.
The Varsity team plays Thursday in the Johnson City LBJ Invitational Tournament. The Panthers tip-off at 10:30 am against the Center Point Pirates.
