The Blanco Chamber of Commerce elected a new Board of Directors in October and held their Annual Director Retreat on November 7. Aaron Cox, an executive with the Texas Association of Business and the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives facilitated this year’s retreat.
The focus of the retreat is to bring the new Board of Directors together in order to get to know one another; learn about the strengths and experience of each member, and discuss goals and objectives for the coming year. Executive Director, Libbey Aly said, “We are very excited to have a very diverse Board for 2014. There is a great mix of members from a wide variety of local businesses; and some fields that have never before been represented. The Chamber is looking forward to serving our members on a broader scale in the next year and we have a great group of people to make that happen.”
The 2014 Board of Directors will begin their duties in January, although task forces and committees are already being formed and are getting to work right away. All Chamber of Commerce members are welcome to attend the monthly Board meetings, always on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 9:00 a.m. in the Chamber office.
A great big “Thank You” goes out to Christine and Frank Bushong at Carriage Hills Ranch and Dennis Moore, for hosting the retreat and providing a delicious breakfast and lunch to the attendees. Thanks as well go out to Cornelia England, for not only helping to organize the retreat, but for participating as a newly elected member of the Board.
