The Blanco County Farm Bureau met for the annual convention on October 15 at the Johnson City High School. Over 100 members listened to an informative and inspirational talk from Dr. Rick Machen, Extension Livestock Specialist, about the importance of small cattle producers and the importance of teaching young consumers that the food on their table begins at a farm or ranch. The evening was capped off by a raffling of door prizes. The Board of Directors would like to thank the following businesses for providing the door prizes:
In Johnson City: Whittington’s Jerky, El Charro Mexican Restaurant, Cattleman’s Bank, Odiorne Feed and Supply, and Pecan Street Brewery.
In Blanco: Car Quest, NAPA Auto Parts, Lowe’s Market, KC Supply, Blanco National Bank, Cattleman’s National Bank, Security State Bank and Klepac Greenhouses.
