The Blanco County Association of Retired Teachers met on October 24th at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The program entitled "Hopice: Myths and Mysteries" was presented by Connie Barron who works with the Hill Country Memorial Hospice.
The BCARE members learned many things about the program including that the hospice program serves 13 counties in the area. It provides multiple areas of support long before and after a family's loss. The costs are usually covered by insurance or donation.
The business meeting followed and a light lunch was served.
The next BCARE meeting is scheduled for February 27th, 2014 in Johnson City. All retired school employees are invited to join on the state level of TRTA or simply the local level ($5.00 dues) and enjoy all that BCARE offers.
