The Blanco County Historical Commission held its annual meeting with the traditional covered dish meal at the PEC auditorium in Johnson City on Monday, October 29.
Harvest House Farms furnished the pork roast. Everyone brought a dish to share and the food was enjoyed by all attending.
A short business meeting was held and the nominating committee proposed the following officer selections for the 2012 term: Chairman Sherry Smith Jenkins, Vice Chair North Camille Hoppe Swift, Vice Chair South Rebecca Howerton, Secretary Patty Coffee, and Treasurer Pat Vallone.
Blanco County Judge Bill Guthrie commended Nell Krueger, who has stepped down as chairman, for the diligent work she has given to the county and the commission.
Patty McLead, owner of Songbird Meadows Bed & Breakfast and author of Tattered Not Torn, was the guest speaker for the evening–a heart-wrenching and inspiring tale of success in tragedy with God’s abiding love.
