The District 27-AA cross country meet was held Wednesday, October 24, in Comfort. Though few in number, the Blanco team made a strong showing, sending four Panthers on to regionals. In the girls division Meaghen Seales won the district championship with a time of 12:44. Bret Nance placed 6th with 13:47 and Breanna Collins ran the course in 14:13 to place 10th. Carinne Johnston placed 22nd with a time of 15:14. In the boys division, Rance Dollahite ran the course in 18:16 to place 7th. Trent Dechert placed 22nd with a time of 21:11.
The top 10 runners in the girls and boys division advance to regionals. Meaghen, Bret, Breanna, and Rance will compete at the Region IV meet at the University of Texas at San Antonio this Saturday, November 3. The girls run a 2-mile course starting at 10:50 a.m. The boys run a 3-mile course beginning at 11:15 a.m. Good luck cross country runners!
