The Blanco football junior varsity posted another strong win taking down the Lexington Eagles 40-0 on Thursday, October 25. The Panthers struck quickly on a 40-yard touchdown run by Logan Dodd. The Panthers added the 2 extra points on pass from quarterback Jordan Wagner to Dodd. The Panthers led 8-0. On their next possession, Blanco scored on a 10 yard run by Adrien Dominguez. Wanger again hit Dodd in the endzone for the 2 extra points. The defense held the Eagles, forcing them to punt. The offense went to work moving the ball down field on a 40 yard run by Ryan Ronces and a 43 yard pass play by the Wagner-Dodd combination. Dominguez made the 3 yard run for the Panther touchdown. The 2-point attempt failed. The Panthers led 22-0. After the defense held Lexington again, Dodd returned a punt 30 yards to the 22 yard line giving the Panthers excellent field position. Wagner again found Dodd open for the touchdown pass. The 2 point conversion failed. Blanco enjoyed a 28-0 halftime lead.
The Panthers added two more touchdowns on a 50 yard run and a 95 yard run by Dodd. The extra point attempts failed after each score. The 95 yard run was made after the Panther defense held the Eagles scoreless with a goal-line stand. Outstanding stops were made by Tray Hodge, Levi Windham, Ryan Ronces, Joe Lopez, Dylan Bates, Phil Alvarado, Ross Edwards, Dru Ramirez, and Ryan Bible. Jarred Mayfield snagged an interception to stop an Eagle drive. Chase Horton, Aaron Uballe, and Eddie Torres also carried the ball for Panther yardage. Dawson Albin, Chris De La Torre, James Rodriguez, Jack Morgan, and Zach Hogan also made tackles.
The Panthers held on for the 40-0 shut-out.
