Compass Rose Cellars is the newest winery to open its doors in Mason, TX, having just celebrated its Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting on July 19, 2013. This new winery has joined the ranks of the booming wine industry in the Texas Hill Country and is already planning events that will draw wine enthusiasts and foodies from across Texas.
Wanting to share the winemaking experience with others, Compass Rose Cellars will be hosting their first Harvest Experience event on July 27 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. During the event, Rob Nida, the winemaker, will be guiding guests through the unique experience of winemaking by demonstrating the transformation from vine to wine. He has reserved some Blanc Du Bois grapes for guests to taste and compare to table grapes. He will also be serving sips off the vat to event guests. This unique experience with the winemaker will be held three times throughout the event: 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. Also during the event guests will enjoy wine tastings, chef-prepared hors d’oeuvres, and live music.
Compass Rose Cellars prides itself on winemaking with old-world craftsmanship and innovating with modern technique. Just like the compass rose emblem from which their name originates, Compass Rose Cellars combines art and science with a little bit of love in the making of their wines. By mixing modern science with time-honored methods, Compass Rose Cellars achieves high quality and strives for new heights with each wine.
Compass Rose Cellars Winery will be open for tours and tastings by appointment starting July 29th. To reserve an appointment with their winemaker, email Compass Rose Cellars at info@compassrosecellars.com or call 972-415-4189.
