The Hill Country 100 Club, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, announced that they have made a $10,000 donation to the immediate family of fallen Tow Volunteer Firefighter Ronald Sanderson. According to Tow Volunteer Fire Department President Shawn Becker; “On July 5, 2013 Ronald gave his life by entering his burning home to secure the safety of his wife and three children. Ronald entered the front of his home to evacuate his family unknowing that his wife and children were exiting through the back door as he entered through the front…he never made it out.”
Firefighter Ronald Sanderson had ten years of service (2002 – 2012) with the Tow VFD before leaving the area for a new job opportunity. Upon returning to the Tow area in May of this year Ronald immediately reapplied to rejoin his firefighter brothers at the TOW VFD. This process was in progress at the time of his death. Our prayers go out to his widow and children as they grieve his loss.
