Pedernales Electric Cooperative members are invited to the Co-op’s annual meeting June 22 in Kyle. Doors open for registration and Board election voting at 8 a.m. at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center, 979 Kohler’s Crossing in Kyle.
Family-friendly activities are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. This year, in addition to fun, educational and interactive events, members have the opportunity to participate in both a blood drive and a food drive to benefit the community and area citizens.
The blood drive is being operated by the Blood Center of Central Texas, and donors can enter to win a $100 H-E-B gift card and a $500 Southwest Airlines gift card. Members who would like to donate should pre-register at www.inyourhands.org using group B875. The food drive will benefit the Hays County Food Bank. Members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and put them in the indicated bins.
The official annual business meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. Meeting attendees will hear reports regarding the Co-op's activities during the past year and learn results of the Board election. Two candidates, Jimmy Skipton and Chris Perry, are running for the Co-op’s District 4 director seat. James Oakley is unopposed as the District 5 candidate.
Members registering prior to 10:30 a.m. at the meeting will have a chance to win door prizes, including:
A 2009 Mercury Mariner hybrid SUV (retired from the PEC fleet)
An Energy Star front-loading washer and a dryer
Two $500 Kohl's gift cards
Energy Star flat-panel LED TV
Meeting registration and member voting will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m.
