The Blanco Lavender Festival Steering Committee and the Blanco Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Blanco! Another successful Lavender Festival has concluded, and would not have been the incredible event that it was without the hard work, dedication and understanding of so many volunteers, local business owners and City officials.
Libbey Aly, Executive Director of the Blanco Chamber of Commerce said, “We were blessed with well over 100 volunteers from the community and had incredible support from the Old Blanco County Courthouse Preservation Society and the City of Blanco. Special thanks go out to our Mayor, Chuck Homan for his participation and assistance the entire weekend, as well as Police Chief, Mike Ritchey for keeping us all safe, and ensuring everything went smoothly, The City of Blanco for the use of our beautiful Bindseil Park and enduring the interruptions to normal City business. We appreciate the merchants around the square and surrounding areas for their willingness to make special arrangements for their staffing of the weekend. Every visitor that we spoke with had a wonderful time and almost all comment on what a lovely town Blanco is to visit. It is not only the beauty of Blanco that captures the hearts of our visitors, but our welcoming and friendly community.”
A final wrap-up meeting is scheduled for next week, and then plans will begin in earnest for next year’s festival – a special occasion as 2014 will be the celebration of the 10th Annual Blanco Lavender Festival, June 12-14, 2014.
