Blanco State Park will host a Stars-in-the-Park event on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at the park pavilion.
The event will begin at 6:30 pm with an overview of space using Stellarium, a computer-generated view of what will be shining in the sky that night.
Attendees will have all their questions about the night's sky and astronomy in general explained by volunteer amateur astronomers.
Later, everyone will have a chance to view the wonders of Blanco's nighttime sky using a variety of telescopes out on the lawn.
Stars-in-the-Park will go on rain or shine. If it is cloudy, the Stellarium presentation will be expanded into Astronomy 101 with attendees learning even more about astronomy and the marvels of the universe above us.
The event is free except for the normal park admission ($4 for 13 and older; free for 12 and younger and Texas State Park Pass Holders).
Please bring a flashlight, dress for the weather, and come have fun!
