The Boy Scout Troop 497 participated in the 2012 Scout-A-Rama in Marble Falls on October 13 and 14. The Marble Falls Noon Lions Club sponsored the event for Girl Scouts of Central Texas and Capitol Area Boy Scout Council so the scouts could showcase their outdoors and camping skills.
The Scout-A-Rama provided opportunities for girls and boys to share experiences, learn new skills, and demonstrate to the public the spirits of community service. On Friday night, after a supper provided by the Lions Club, all the groups gathered together to participate in skits and songs. The Blanco Scout Troop 497 performed two skits and won awards for both. The Blanco Girl Scouts also performed some songs. The next morning after breakfast, also provided by the Lions Club, the scouts set up information or skill booths. Our troop had multiple skills at their booth - jousting, paper airplane throw, toilet paper throw, and the pole game. The event ended with lunch, awards and a flag ceremony.
