Friday, May 17th, Uptown Blanco Art Center proudly hosted the annual Blanco County High School Art Show. This youth art exhibition included artwork from Blanco High School, Johnson City LBJ High School and Johnson City Middle School.
In total 34 students participated, presenting over 50 works of art. Pieces featured a wide variety of media, including paintings, ceramic sculptures, photography, and fibers.
Watercolorist, Jim Street of Wimberley who is a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society and member of the Wimberley Fine Arts Center, judged the show.
Morgan Linsey placed first with Architectural Digest. Second place was awarded to Ethan Heinen for The Lost Rider. Shelby Conlon received third for Nailed It. Kayla Kneese was awarded fourth for Let’s Reflect. Makayla Preston received fifth place for Everyday Heroes. And sixth place was awarded to Robert Herrera for his piece, After Hours.

Special thanks go out to Ms. Diane Hudson, art teacher at Johnson City LBJ High School and Middle School, and Ms. Perry Kuebel, art teacher at Blanco High School. Many friends and family members came out on opening night to support the young artists’ hard work, commitment, and creativity. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and support play an important role in the lives of these young, talented artists.
